About Us
George Turnbull, Acuitas’ founder, continues today in the role of Lead Tutor
Upon graduating from Westminster School, Adelaide with a 99.5 ATAR and 99.95 University Selection Rank, George accepted an offer to enter the PhB-HaSS program at the Australian National University (ANU) in Canberra.
The PhB is a hyper-selective ‘interdisciplinary research-focused undergraduate degree for very high achieving and intellectually curious students’ whose small cohort is allowed to eschew much regular coursework in favour of long term, self-directed projects on topics of their choice. These ‘Advanced Studies Courses’ (ASCs) are completed under the guidance of an academic supervisor with expertise in the relevant field.
George’s ASCs centred broadly on issues relating to technological progress, with a particular focus on artificial intelligence and probability theory. These major projects were supplemented by standard courses in strategic studies, philosophy, history, global security, political science, business, economics, and more. George’s work was selected as an exemplar for subsequent PhB intakes, and he was asked to serve as a mentor for incoming first-year students. He was praised in his final project for ‘a maturity and commitment to his work that would put many graduate students to shame’.
George’s results were such that, at the end of 2023, he was able to gain accelerated entry into the prestigious Juris Doctor program at the University of Melbourne. Melbourne Law School is the top law school in Australia and a top-ten law school globally. He will graduate in 2026.
Beyond his studies, George is an accomplished trail runner. He holds the record for South Australia’s 262km-long Kidman Trail, where his time of 30hrs57m broke the previous best by over six hours. He was also previously the U23 national mountain running champion.

We strongly believe our pricing to be commensurate with the service we provide — however, if cost is a genuine barrier, we will make an effort to find a suitable solution.
